Roseicollis Turquoise Ino

roseicollis Turquoise Ino

A “Roseicollis Turquoise Ino” is a Peach-faced Lovebird (Agapornis roseicollis) that results from the combination of two specific mutations:

Turquoise Mutation: Turquoise mutation occurs on the body color of the bird’s feathers, which is as a result of the mutation. These turquoise lovebirds are characterized by even-blue lines that can be described as an evenly painted bright blue.

Ino Mutation: As stated above, the Ino mutation lowers or entirely eliminates eumelanin and phaeomelanin pigments found on the feathers. As such, this makes for almost entirely white plumage, which has hints of yellow on body and bright yellow at the base. Ino lovebirds normally have red eyes while their legs are pale in color having bones colored nails. The color of face shows that they are completely white except for the very little pinkish tints around their forehead.

Hence, Roseicollis Turquoise Ino lovebird has got a mostly white form of the overall body with the blue strip (Turquoise), while Ino mutation provides the bird with yellowish shade and affects beaks as well as eyes. These are unusual mixed sets of mutations producing very attractive looking bird’s species called lovebirds.”
